Guatemala is plagued by increasing crime, drug and human trafficking. Exasperation is noticeable when residents get ready to do justice themselves in the face of failed and corrupt police forces. There are many scenes of ordinary violence. Lynchings have replaced beatings. No more humiliations, killings instead.
Caught in the act on the scenes of crime, often by neighbours, the offenders are murdered by an angry crowd. Unsustainable images appear on posted videos.
In 2007, the United Nations created an international commission against impunity in Guatemala, a
country where less than 4% of the murders end in a conviction.
